NSRBA New "Sower Bags" Ministry

"Sower Bags" Ministry

New South River Baptist Association introduces its new ministry "Sower Bags".               Call the office at 485-8791 for details to participate in this ministry.

Place in each quart-sized bag:

  • 1 Washcloth
  • 1 Bandana
  • 1 Pair of Socks
  • 1 Granola Bar
  • 1 - $5.00 Bill
New South River Baptist Association will provide:
  • 1 Bottled Water
  • 1 "Living Water" Booklet

Sower Bag Q & A

1.) Once we collect the supplies do we keep them to use as witnessing tool and/or do we drop them off to the Association? Once you have placed all the items inside each bag, you would then drop all of the bags off at the Association. We would then complete the bags by adding the water and the booklet.

2.) If we keep and use those does the Association still provide the bottle water and booklet to go inside? You would not keep any of the bags. Once the bags are completed at the Association, your church would pick some of them up, to distribute to some of your congregation. The bags are then used for one on one discipleship with an individual you may happen across in your daily routines. The bags are not meant to be used in a group environment where you just meet at a location and hand them out to people you may see. It’s about “sowing seeds” of Christ to people in need.

3.) Why the specific items listed? The items on the list are basic necessities that people may need, most are items we take for granted, i.e. a clean washcloth, water, $5 etc. Does each item symbolize or have a meaning? None of the items have a symbolic meaning. There is a booklet included, “Living Water”, as a way to assist a person to discover Christ and reach for their personal Salvation.

This is an opportunity for you to keep a "sower bag" in your vehicle, and as you are out and about, God will provide an opportunity for you to witness to someone about Jesus Christ.  Let's start sowing some seeds.
